Welcome to Bosworth Bees
For the next 2 or 3 weeks we'll mainly be working on the brambles and lime trees, one of the biggest jobs of the whole year.At this time of year the hive is at its biggest and busiest, up to 50,000 worker bees with the hive entrance a traffic jam of bees coming and going. Depending on their age the bees will be assigned to different jobs, not just collecting pollen and nectar but also cleaning and tidying up around the hive, bringing in water (to keep the hive cool on hot summer days), feeding and looking after the young bees and defending the hive from intruders, especially wasps.
